Bedroom Refurbishments at The Derwentwater Hotel

When any guest books a hotel there are many things which play a big part in making the stay enjoyable.  Here at The Derwentwater Hotel we pride ourselves on our friendly staff, good food and an outstanding location which has much to offer guests.  Over the last 12 months since my appointment we have worked tirelessly to improve all of these areas, but another important factor is Comfort. Combined these can really make a difference and I am pleased to announce further improvements to the hotel.  We have now completed refurbishment of 16 bedrooms this month, which will mean that over 50% of the 47 bedrooms have been refurbished in the last 12 months.

A huge investment has really made the difference and our guests love these new rooms.  The process has been a long one, from design to finish but the results are fantastic.  These rooms are beautifully bright and very comfortable with wonderful new beds, bedding and furniture.

Below is a few pictures of Room 117 before then after:

We are very proud of the results and hope that you too will enjoy the stunning bedrooms. Whilst this project has drawn to a close we are still planning much more which we know will make all the difference to our guests.

  • I love to stay at the Derwentwater Hotel. I am a widow and a walker, so go on my own as I know lots of walks around Keswick. The very first time I stayed there they gave me room 207 which was a lovely cosy single room and I was very comfortable in it. I went again in June last year and they gave me the same room with a welcome back card and some chocolates which I thought was really lovely. I was so happy to have room 207 again. My only problem is getting booked in to the Derwentwater Hotel (room 207 must be very popular) as everytime I try there are no single rooms left. I live in hope and keep trying. Susan Grierson

  • Thank you for your comment, any time you wish to enquire regarding room 207 please give the hotel a call and speak myself or Catherine and we will do our very best to accommodate you. I hope see you back very soon. Kind Regards David McDonald, General Manager
